PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

I watched a video on Youtube hoping to watch it again for content but it was removed for violating YouTube's terms of service. The speaker in the video claimed that “Jesus submitted his will to Allah and that made him a Muslim.” He mentioned that Jesus did not claim Judaism and did not establish Christianity when He was on earth. Jesus was a devout Jew, observed Jewish holy days, and taught in the synagogues and the Temple. All the time the Bible records Him in the temple, He was teaching or healing not performing their rituals. At a point, He drove the traders selling the goats and birds meant for rituals out claiming that the House of God is the House of prayer not the den of thieves. The believers were first called Christians in Athens after the ascension of Jesus Christ. Otherwise the followers of Jesus were simply called believers or followers of Jesus. The speaker in the video erred because what he claimed Jesus to be is a religion and Jesus did not establish rituals or religion rather, He came to show us the way back to God and how to establish a relationship with God as our Father.
Jesus said, “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.” (Mat. 5:17 NIV) So, if Jesus was the sacrifice, how can He offer sacrifice? He perfectly kept the demands of the law, both in letter and in spirit, living the sinless life that humanity could not. He showed us how to overcome sin by relying on God through the power of the Holy Spirit, hence, He came to show us the WAY. Rituals and religions are entrenched in the ability of man to reach God. And man, through his own ability and powers cannot please God. This is why all the rituals and religions in the world cannot make anyone make heaven. Jesus is the only way back to God. It takes God to please God.
“Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” (James 1:26-27 NIV) This is not religion but a way of life. Jesus did not set out to create a new, distinct religion. Instead, His core mission centered on teaching about the Kingdom of God, repentance, and a personal relationship with the divine. Yes, he was born into first-century Judaism and sought to reform and fulfill it. And He did when He gave Himself up on the Cross and whoever looks up to Him will be saved. What He did, does not fit into any religion established before or after His ascension. Jesus is not about religion; He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. (John 14:6)
