WE NEED THE SPIRIT OF DISCERNMENT.
“He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and another the ability to prophesy. HE GIVES SOMEONE ELSE THE ABILITY TO DISCERN WHETHER A MESSAGE IS FROM THE SPIRIT OF GOD OR FROM ANOTHER SPIRIT. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, while another is given the ability to interpret what is being said.” (1 Cor. 12:10 NLT)
What is the Spirit of Discernment?
Being able to differentiate between the people of the world, the voice of God, and to recognize when something feels right or wrong. It's a supernatural insight, often described as a specific spiritual gift, that helps believers test spiritual messages and recognize the true character of spiritual manifestations. For example: “Paul and Silas traveled through the area of Phrygia and Galatia, BECAUSE THE HOLY SPIRIT HAD PREVENTED THEM from preaching the word in the province of Asia at that time. Then coming to the borders of Mysia, they headed north for the province of Bithynia, BUT AGAIN THE SPIRIT OF JESUS DID NOT ALLOW THEM TO GO THERE. So instead, they went on through Mysia to the seaport of Troas.” (Acts 16:6-8 NLT) That was the discerning Spirit.
Another example is: “One day as we were going down to the place of prayer, we met a slave girl who had a spirit that enabled her to tell the future. She earned a lot of money for her masters by telling fortunes. She followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God, and they have come to tell you how to be saved.” This went on day after day until Paul got so exasperated that he turned and said to the demon within her, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And instantly it left her.” (Acts 16:16-18 NLT) As much as what she said was true, it was the demon in her speaking not the spirit of God. This is why we need to test every spirit (1 John 4:1-6). The demons also know God (James 2:19)

The church, the believers, are so blind to see, smell, feel, know, when the pulpit, the choir, band, the prayer groups are infiltrated and no longer managed by the Spirit of God. We are so wrapped and lost in self that we fail to see the destroyer. We look on the outside and not on the inside. Gradually, we are drained of spiritual power to powerlessness. Whereas, where two or three are gathered and agree in Jesus’ name, heaven will act (Mat. 18:19-20)
THE WORD: “At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, [11] and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people." (Mat.24.10-11.NIV)
