PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

LIVE THE WORD, THE WORD OF GOD.
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but ON EVERY WORD THAT COMES FROM THE MOUTH OF GOD.” (Mat. 4:4 NIV) Because the “word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (Heb. 4:12 NIV)
The saying goes; ‘There is no amount of spiritual penance that can substitute for character. Sometimes you need character not prayers.’ And the only way to change from our old ways to the way pleasing to God is by living the Word of God.
Virtue is being erase in our society today for money and Christian virtue is in close competition. We merely hear the word, not live the word. Things are falling apart and we are all paying the price. We are all victims of dishonesty that has swallowed the society. We pay the price of corruption with our lives, our health, our happiness, our peace of mind and our sanity. Believers are the light of the world but we are not shinning the light. We keep the light out and partner with darkness; yet pray for light to prevail. Light can only prevail when we are willing to shine it through our character.
Jesus Christ is described thus: “Teacher,” they said, “we know that you are a MAN OF INTEGRITY and that you TEACH the way of God in accordance with THE TRUTH. You AREN’T SWAYED BY OTHERS, because YOU PAY NO ATTENTION TO WHO THEY ARE. Honestly, I doubt if there is more than a hand full of Christians that can be described as such and this is just a tip of the iceberg when it comes to the upright character of Jesus Christ. Who are we emulating/following?
Jesus left only eleven disciples to spread the gospel of hope and truth to the whole world and to change the world. We are beneficiaries of their obedience. Is our character worthy of display on the billboard? Can we honestly say we have made them proud? We want to become billionaires overnight “but we know that suffering produces perseverance;
perseverance, character; and character, hope. (Rom.5:3-4 NIV) If we reject the godly order of nature, then we embrace the unnatural order that leads to condemnation. “The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.” (Prov. 11:3 NIV)
BE YOU DOERS OF THE WORD NOT HEARERS ONLY.
THE WORD: “Don’t be fooled by those who say such things, for “bad company corrupts good character.” [34] Think carefully about what is right, and stop sinning. For to your shame I say that some of you don’t know God at all." (1 Cor. 15.33-34.NLT)
