THOUGH I HAVE FALLEN, I WILL RISE (Micah 7:8)
The hope of all believers is victory over any and all adversities of life. We were a wreck when the Lord rescued us and brought us from darkness into His marvelous light. Thereafter, we were supposed to remain standing but every time we looked back, instead of looking forward – keeping our eyes on our Saviour, – we fall. The fall is not the issue. The disappointment is not the issue. The shame is not the issue. The self-pity is not the issue. The loss is not the issue. The set back is not the issue. The termination of employment is not the issue. The death of loved ones is not the issue. No matter how hard the enemy hits you, that is not the issue. The real issue is ARE YOU STAYING DOWN OR RISING UP FROM THE ASHES?
“Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in
darkness, the Lord will be my light. Because I have sinned against him, I will bear the Lord’s wrath, until he pleads my case and upholds my cause He will bring me out into the light; I will see his righteousness. Then my enemy will see it and will be covered with shame, she who said to me, “Where is the Lord your God?” My eyes will see her downfall; even now she will be trampled underfoot like mire in the streets.” (Micah 7:8-10 NIV)
Why do we have this hope?
Because it is written: “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chron. 7:14 NIV) David said to Gad, “I am in deep distress. Let us fall into the hands of the Lord, for his mercy is great; but do not let me fall into human hands.” (2 Sam. 24:14 NIV) Be humbled. Repent!
Brethren, whatever you are passing through may look like the end but when you look unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith, you will sing again, laugh again, dance again because Jesus is the solution to all the problems. The price for your downfall is already paid. You only need the courage to stand up again.
THE WORD: "Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. [8] They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm." (Psa.20.7-8.NIV)
