PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT
Sept. 7th, 2026
“The Lord enters into judgment against the elders and leaders of his people: “It is you who have ruined my vineyard; the plunder from the poor is in your houses.” (Isa. 3:14 NIV)
“Three times a year all your men are to appear before the Sovereign Lord, the God of Israel. I will drive out nations before you and enlarge your territory, and no one will covet your land when you go up three times each year to appear before the Lord your God.” (Exo. 34:23-24 NIV) Briefly, the instruction of verse 23 posed a massive security risk on their homes, farms, and borders. But God asks the men to put OBEDIENCE AND COMMUNAL WORSHIP above practical fears and worldly business. In return, He guarantees their safety.
WHY DOES GOD HOLD MEN RESPONSIBLE?
God did not create man and woman at the same time. He created Adam first (Gen. 2:15). He gave Adam responsibility first. He spoke His word to man first and His instruction was to man first. All these He did before Eve. And God was very specific on the role of Eve - she was the suitable help.
When mankind fell, God said to Adam “where are you?” (Gen. 3:9) not where are both of you?
In Adam, “all die” (1 Cor. 15:22) not in Adam and Eve all die.
When God entered into the covenant, it was with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob not with Sarah, Rebecca and Rachel.
Men are the foundation. The foundation of a house is meant to be strong and stable. The other parts depend on the solid foundation
Because when men fail, the children rebel, the women take over and the men become weak (Isa. 3:4, 12a)
WHAT ARE MEN’S PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY?
To love, lead, and protect his family and others through sacrificial service, mirroring Christ's love for the church. (Eph. 5:25; 1 Tim. 5:8; Psa. 78:4; Eph.6:4)
WHY DO MEN FAIL IN THEIR RESPONSIBILITY?
God provided man with his first home. A garden, responsibility and a wife. Man forgets and lives away from God. Needs to find his way back.
God is calling men to be strong so that everything, family, church, and culture can be built on their strength. But men are calling on women to take charge.
It is not difficult to identify homes where the women are in control. The men shy away from making decisions. The financial power has shifted.
Responsibility and accountability are two different things. We are all (men and women) accountable for our deeds. When men fail…….
THE WORD: “The Lord will let the people be governed by immature boys. Everyone will take advantage of everyone else. Young people will not respect their elders, and worthless people will not respect their superiors.” (Isa. 3:4-5 GNT)
