The natural law or principle is to plant first and harvest is next. God has not turned it the other way round - to harvest and then plant.
Genesis 1:11-12; Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so. The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good." (NIV). The FIRST thing to NOTICE is; GOD DID NOT GIVE MAN HARVEST BUT SEED. [Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food (Gen.1.29.NIV)]
Notice again that God said (the seed) is yours for food. Do you eat the seed and have nothing left or you multiply the seed?
Noah, a farmer, proceeded to plant a vineyard (Gen. 9:20). Issac lived on the land, he did as God commanded him, he planted and reaped a hundredfold (Gen 26:1-3, 12.) Sowing seed according to God's order is also a blessing.
Some of us will rather put the cart before the horse. They want to reap where they have not sown or harvest where they have not planted. They appeared vulnerable at first and if you are unyielding, they apply pressure and sometimes blackmail just to put you under their control or spell until you do their bidding. The reverse of the natural order of plant and harvest has dug deep into every sphere of our society.
One of the rules of planting before harvest is WAIT. Nothing good grows overnight. There is a waiting period and we have to patiently wait too fir a good harvest. A couple sows the seed, and the wife becomes pregnant. To fast-forward the process of gestation is to destroy the unborn child. It is the same with a good fruit tree. Waiting is part of the deal for good harvest. What the world forsake today is 'the Waiting.' We want to get rich quickly. In this circumstance, such harvest cannot produce good seeds for replanting.
