"YOU WERE BOUGHT WITH A PRICE." Devotional

This is a very profound statement that all believers in Christ Jesus should place on the front burner of the heart as a constant reminder of our current status.
We were once slaves. We were unloved.
We were condemned as criminals and heading towards Hell fire.
We once did not have Hope, we were lost and could not find our way back home.
We were lonely, we were outcasts.
We fell short of the glory of God. (Rom. 3:23)
We wandered aimlessly about because we have no compass to direct us.
We were confused and engulfed in darkness.

THEN HE CAME; WE SAW HIM.
He stood there at the entrance of our hearts (Rev 3:20). He asked a simple question - 'Do you love Me?"
We answered, 'Yes'
He took our hands, washed us in His precious blood. The blood that washes whiter than snow.
Suddenly,  we were no longer slaves but friends of the Most High God.

We, who ganged up, to put to shame, the Son of God! We stoned Him, we spat on Him. We naked Him. We beat Him until there was little breath left in Him. Then we nailed Him to the Cross. He had no sin but willingly took our sins on Himself and in exchange, gave us His love. What a contrast!

"Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy." (1 Pet.2.10.NIV)

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. BUT TAKE HEART! I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD.”
(John.16.33.NIV). What comforting words! Our former slave master cannot entice us, or cajole us, or deceive us again because we have been bought with a price. Jesus PAID IT ALL. The transaction completed.

YOU HAVE BEEN BOUGHT WITH A PRICE; YOU ARE NO LONGER YOUR OWN. Surrender ALL to Jesus.

WORD: "See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.............But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure." (1 John.3.1-3.NIV)
