In Deuteronomy 29:29, God said: "The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law." (Deut.29.29.NIV)
It has always been a difficult task to convince unbelievers that Jesus is God. Sometimes, even believers want to grade Him in second place to God the Father. Jesus knowing our minds said: "But if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”(John.10.38.NIV). This was inspite of the fact that He came to earth in the form of God (Phil.2:6).
Jesus came to us as an ALL KNOWING GOD - Omniscience. It is ONLY God who knows everything, the past, present and future. And God does not reveal anything to us until we are ready to take the step of faith like Abraham. God gives us instructions without the details. As we obey and trust Him, He shows us the next thing to do. Even when He gives the prophecies and visions, they are for a time usually not specified, but surely come to pass (Isa. 45:21). With Jesus, however, it was different. Jesus spoke of the past, present and future knowingly. He gave clues and often gave details of the next event before it happened. He knew the thoughts in the hearts before they were spoken - "Jesus knowing their thoughts.." "No one needed to tell him about human nature, for he knew what was in each person’s heart." (John.2.25.NLT)
Jesus knew why He came to earth (we have no clue why we are here), He knew when to start His ministry, when it will end and even how it will end. And He did not hide these facts but discussed them openly with His disciples. He knew He will resurrect on the third day etc and it all happened as He said. There is no other character in the Bible with such knowledge but God. Not once was Jesus afraid but rather, He spoke with unprecedented authority. That was God!
The disciples asked: "......In fear and amazement they asked one another, “Who is this? He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him.” (Luk.8.25.NIV)
WORD: "Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name,..." (Phil.2.9.NIV)
