PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

“I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.” (Isa. 42:8 KJV)
Job asked God some fundamental questions during the period of his suffering.
“Why did I not perish at birth, and die as I came from the womb? Why were there knees to receive me and breasts that I might be nursed?” (Job 3:11)
“Or why was I not hidden away in the ground like a stillborn child, like an infant who never saw the light of day?” (Job 3:12)
“Indeed, I know that this is true. But how can mere mortals prove their innocence before God?” (Job 9:2)
“Why do the wicked live on, growing old and increasing in power?” (Job 21:7)
“Does it please you to oppress me, to spurn the work of your hands, while you smile on the plans of the wicked?” (Job 10:3)
Scholars believe that Job asked God between 122 to 124 questions. Let us bear in mind that Job asked these questions from the advantageous position of a just man; unlike those of us with baggage of sin. Did God answerJob’s questions? God did not answer any of Job’s questions.
He did not answer Habakkuk’s questions either (Habakkuk 1:2-4; 12-17) “Why do you tolerate wrongdoing? Why do you make me look at injustice?” and neither did He answer Jesus’ question. “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Mat. 27:46). And probably, God has not answered your questions as well, especially the ‘why me?’
The answer is hidden in God’s response to Job’s many questions. Instead of an explanation, God provided a revelation of Himself. He took Job on a tour of the cosmos, asking if Job could control the oceans, time the seasons, or manage the wild animals. By doing this, God showed that the universe is far too vast, complex, and mysterious for a finite human to fully comprehend or manage. (Job 38-41) In all, God asked Job between 66 to 77 questions - "Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation?"
The answers to all our questions are hidden in God’s response to Job’s. God does not owe us any explanation. All He is telling us is to TRUST HIM. Yes, blindly because He is much more than our sufferings. He knows about them all and He is solving them. He didn’t tell Job about His conversation with Satan, yet He was working. He knew that Habakkuk’s distress was temporary and it was. He knew Jesus was going to be glorified and given the name that is above all names. He knows your situation too. He structured it. TRUST THE OWNER OF YOUR SOUL. HE DOES NOT WANT YOU TO PERISH.
THE WORD: Then Job replied to the Lord: “I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted. You asked, ‘Who is this that obscures my plans without knowledge?’ Surely I spoke of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know.” (Job 42:2-3 NIV)
