"He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he causes me to stand on the heights. He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze." (Psa.18.33-34.NIV)When things are tough, when the expectations grow deem, when hope seems to thin out or turns to doubt, when the waiting seems unbearable; people often ask "who did I offend?" This means we often war against faceless enemy hence, ".....our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." (Eph.6.12.NIV)
"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." (Isa.40.31.NIV)
The more the enemy is in pursuit, the stronger you become. Why? You went into the unwarranted war from a disadvantage position. Somewhere along the line, you find God and you begin to rely on His strength. As you do this, you gather courage. As you gather courage, fear becomes insignificant. As you get stronger, the enemy becomes weaker. The waiting wears the enemy out. This is God’s classic strategy. "The Egyptian (enemy) you see today, you shall see them no more" (Exo. 14:13). ".....for those who were trying to take the child’s life are dead.” (Mat.2.20.NIV)
That enemy in relentless pursuit gets weaker whether you believe it or not because you dwell in the secret place of the Most High God (Psa. 91:1).
While in God's shelter, you are being trained for battle. Hence, David's declaration; "my arms can bend a bow of bronze."
We can look fear in the face and fear will be afraid of who we have become but only in Christ Jesus. David grew stronger; Saul grew weaker. While the child, Jesus grew stronger, Herod died. While Samson regained his strength, the Philistines were getting drunk. While Sarah's enemy thought she was passed the age of child bearing, they went to sleep.
Stand firmly rooted in Christ Jesus.
WORD: "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Deut.31.6.NIV)
