SERVE THE LORD WITH GLADNESS. - Devotional

PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT.

May 21st, 2025

SERVE THE LORD WITH GLADNESS.
Serve the Lord with gladness is an instruction, a command, not merely a statement. It sounds  similar to "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, NOT RELUCTANTLY OR UNDER COMPULSION, FOR GOD LOVES A CHEERFUL GIVER." (2 Cor.9.7.NIV) - COME BEFORE HIS PRESENCE WITH SINGING (Psalm 100:2) not with saddened heart or in despair. Why?

Because there is nothing we need, or require, or desire, that God has not made provisions for. The issue is how to assess God's provisions. And one of the ways is to serve Him with gladness, come before His presence cheerfully and with testimonies. "Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice."
(Psa.105.1-3.NIV).  Let your thankfulness be much more than your requests.
Most of us have failed in this regard. How do we appear before the Lord now, and how should we appear before Him? Paul wrote: "Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! (Phil.4.4.NIV). The key word here is "always".

The next question is, how do I do that when everything is falling apart? TRUST HIM who doesn't fall apart. Because you know that He will not abandon you. His plans are perfect. He will not deny Himself. And because of your solid relationship with Him through Jesus Christ.

How come we know how to massage the rich among us when we needed a favour but don't with God? Why do we respect boundaries with man but not with God?
The walls of Jericho came down while the people were praising the Lord. Jesus gave thanks to God and five loaves of bread and two fish fed 5000 people! He praised God and Lazarus came out from amongst the dead alive! Peter and John worshipped God and the lame man walked.

FEAR is a major obstacle to serving the Lord with gladness. Fear comes in many names, desperation, or whatever, it is still fear. Remove fear, stop focusing on the problems, lean on His promises and you will be able to join everything that has breath to praise the Lord (Psa. 148). Gratitude is God's food.

THE WORD: “Give this command to the Israelites and say to them: ‘Make sure that you present to me at the appointed time my food offerings, as an aroma pleasing to me.’ (Num.28.2.NIV)
