PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT.June 29th, 2025
HABITS TO CULTIVATE TO HEAR FROM GOD
1. Expectations.
Prayer is a two-way communication. When we pray or talk to God, we should expect His response and direction. It is important therefore, to understand the nature of God and how He talks to us.
2. Listen.
The survival of a hunter in the forest depends on his ability to listen to the different sounds, to differentiate, and interpret them correctly. His listening skill or lack of it, is the difference between life and death. This is also true in prayer. To miss the answer from God is to walk deeper into the enemy territory or feel alone and clueless.

3. Stay positive.
God is positive not negative. He is the Encourager, He provides solutions. We need to be able to follow positive suggestions/warnings. Negative influences are always on auto pilot with loud noises and this is why the next habit is important.

4. Know the Word of God.
Jesus Christ said, the Holy Spirit will tell us ONLY what He heard from Him. Holy Spirit will not speak to us from outside the written Word of God. This immediately helps us to identify if it is God speaking or the devil.

5. Free yourself of Inner turmoil.
This involves internal struggles characterized by conflicting feelings, confusions and lack of peace within oneself. Your entire system may be out of control, clouded with guilt, doubt, and regret. This could indicate that you have not truly forgiven yourself of some sins. You have not fully absorb/access the freedom Christ purchased for you.

6. Be yourself.
To want to be anyone else is to create a barrier that prevents you from hearing from God. You want to hear only what you want to hear - not necessarily the truth. Trying to please others not only creates noise, it also means you cannot please God. If you cannot please, you may not hear Him speak.

7. Forget the former things (Isa. 43:18-19).
Put on the new wine skin. Boldly take on your new identity and position in Christ. Why regret the sins you are already forgiven? Rather than regret over and over again, turn that into thanking Him and rejoice always.
THE WORD: "Dear children, don’t let anyone deceive you about this: When people do what is right, it shows that they are righteous, even as Christ is righteous." (1 John.3.7.NLT)
