PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT.

IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD TO LIE.
"There are these two things, then, that cannot change and about which God cannot lie. So we who have found safety with him are greatly encouraged to hold firmly to the hope placed before us."
(Heb.6.18.GNT)
How do we know?
1. God is Holy, not the opposite of Satan, but greater and much more. Satan is evil and that is his main character - deceitful, murderer, thief, destroyer, predator and more in that pattern. Therefore, if Satan is the lie and the father of it, ".........He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies" (John.8.44.NLT), then, God cannot lie. This is why the scripture encourages us; "Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil." (1 Thes.5.20-22.NIV). Because there are false prophets and prophecies.
How do you test every word? By comparing what you are told with the written Word of God which is the Holy Bible. "But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse! (Gal.1.8.NIV)
2. There are two immutable (unchangeable) things that make it impossible for God to lie.
a. His PROMISE. saying, “I will surely bless you and give you many descendants.” (Heb.6.14.NIV). Remember He said, heaven and earth shall pass, but His word will not return to Him unfulfilled (Mat. 24:35; Isa. 55:11)
b. His OATH. "People swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what is said and puts an end to all argument. Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. (Heb.6.16-17.NIV). God forbids us to take oaths and if we did, we must ensure we fulfil it, (Exo 20:7; Ps 15:4; Mat 5:33-37) otherwise, it is sin.
3. God is TRUTH. "The very essence of your words is truth; all your just regulations will stand forever."
(Psa.119.160.NLT)
THE WORD: "Who may climb the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies." (Psa.24.3-4.NLT)
