I SEARCHED FOR SOMEONE TO STAND IN THE GAP.......
“I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn’t have to destroy the land, but I found no one." (Ezek.22.30.NLT)

Contrary to the verse above, Isaiah volunteered to go when God needed someone to send. "Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.” (Isa.6.8.NLT). His mission, like that of Ezekiel, was to warn the people. God is looking for intercessors always because the harvest is much. People who will pray away God's anger, appease Him, and warn the people of the wrath of God if they refused to repent. Because God does not desire the death of sinners but that they should return from their evil ways and live (Ezekiel 18:23).

The world needs intercessors NOW and urgent too because everything is falling apart. The world is worse than in the times of Noah, Sodom and Gomorrah. God has warned and He is still warning of the destruction that awaits the world if we refused to change from our evil ways. Why?

Corruption among leaders and the people is so widespread that God is looking for people who would lead the people back to God (Ezek. 22:25-29). It is a tragedy when some churches are gripped by worldliness and spiritual compromise that God can find no one in the congregation who is willing to intercede by building "the hedge" and standing "in the gap" of the collapsing situation, no one to cry out against spiritual and moral decay, no one to lead the way in humble prayer, true repentance, and an earnest seeking of God for revival (2 Chron. 7:14). All too often many people remain silent out of a spirit of fear or compromise, rather than risking becoming fervent intercessors for revival and for averting God's wrath and Judgement.

Let us not just stand there and allow people to perish because we will not pray on their behalf (cf. Mat. 28:18-20)

THE WORD: "If I warn the wicked, saying, ‘You are under the penalty of death,’ but you fail to deliver the warning, they will die in their sins. And I will hold you responsible for their deaths. If you warn them and they refuse to repent and keep on sinning, they will die in their sins. But you will have saved yourself because you obeyed me." (Ezek.3.18-19.NLT)
