PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT.

YOU HAVE TO WEAR THE KING'S ROBE.
In the Book of Matthew 22:1-14, we read about a king who sent wedding invitations to 'special' people but who refused to honour his invitation at the last minute for different reasons and excuses. So, the king instructed his servants to go into all the nooks and crannies and invite anyone willing to attend the wedding feast. Before long, the whole hall was full of guests but the king spotted a man who was not properly dressed for the occasion. The king asked him why he wasn't wearing the appropriate dress? The man could not answer.
But how did the man manage to enter the hall? He must have accepted the invitation like everyone else. The servants must have allowed him into the hall according to their Master's instructions but probably missed a crucial requirement!
The servants are foot soldiers calling sinners to repent and inviting them to accept Jesus Christ as Savior. The servants work on the outside but God looks on the inside. Ours is to preach the gospel. The selection of the chosen is entirely God's. The man who was not wearing the appropriate dress was an imposter. Many are in the church today claiming to be 'born again' but they are not. They are not wearing the righteousness of Jesus Christ. They have not been washed in the blood of the Lamb.
We have to wear the king's robe to qualify to sit at the wedding feast. Though the king throws an open invitation to all, those who willingly answer the call must be properly dressed.
On the return of the Prodigal son, the first thing his father did after the embrace, was to instruct the servants, "Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet." (Luk.15.22.NIV) Because he has to wear the king's robe.
Joshua, the high priest was standing before the angel of the Lord and Satan standing there to oppose him. After the Lord dealt with Satan, the next thing He commanded was the removal of his filthy dress. “Take off his filthy clothes.” Then he said to Joshua, “See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put fine garments on you.” (Zec.3.4.NIV)
The 'wedding garment' symbolizes a condition for readiness - possession of true faith in Christ and continued obedience made possible through the grace of Christ.
THE WORD: “I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels." (Isa.61.10.NIV)
