THE FIGHT TO WIN – DEPENDENCE ON GOD.
Satan fights believers on two fronts:
• Your possessions – what you believe you own
• Your lack – what you do not have but desire.
He wants what you have and he wants to prevent you from having what you so much desire. How does he do it?
He uses threat to take away, and destroy what you have, knowing how dearly it means to you. You are constantly in a state of worry and emotionally drained. The fear of losing what you have is so real that you doubt God’s promises and His ability to protect whatever is so precious to you. He tortures your clarity. “Lord, have mercy on my son,” he said. “He has seizures and is suffering greatly. He often falls into the fire or into the water. I brought him to your disciples, but they could not heal him.” (Mat. 17:15-16 NIV) Satan anchors you on self-drive. You believe and you are convinced that you acquire ‘your possessions’ by your own efforts.
Satan uses delay to manipulate you to believe that God has abandoned you and that you are never going to have your prayers answered. He uses same fear, doubt, threat, shame, insecurity, and believing that you are the only one missing out. He paints you a picture that everyone is laughing at you and you are the only one that doesn’t have.
Most importantly, he makes you forget God’s promises. He makes you weak and powerless. All of these are happening to you because you fail to DISPOSSESS yourself even of your life as commanded by God. “Who has given me anything that I need to pay back? Everything under heaven is mine.” (Job 41:11 NLT) (Deut. 10:14; 1 Cor. 6:19, 7:23; 1 Tim. 6:7)
There is ONLY ONE THING THAT SHOULD OCCUY YOUR MIND “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.” (Mark 12:30 NLT) This act paralysis Satan. You have nothing to fear when you possess nothing.
THE WORD: “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” (Rev.21.6-8.NKJV)
