PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

This is the ultimate - to love TRUTH more than your skin is the standard required from all mankind especially from the Believers. It is written: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” Mark 12:30-31 NIV)
Job showed us this exact same truth; “Skin for skin!” Satan replied. “A man will give all he has for his own life. But now stretch out your hand and strike his flesh and bones, and he will surely curse you to your face.”
The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, he is in your hands; but you must spare his life.”
So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord and afflicted Job with painful sores from the soles of his feet to the crown of his head. Then Job took a piece of broken pottery and scraped himself with it as he sat among the ashes.
His wife said to him, “Are you still maintaining your integrity? Curse God and die!”
He replied, “You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God, and not trouble?” In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.” (Job 2:4-10 NIV)
Therefore, none of us can ask the question - is this possible? (to love the TRUTH more than my skin) Satan knows that you and I will protect our skins rather than be dignified in truth. Why? Fear of losing what we believe we possessed which in the real sense is NOTHING. Naked you came; naked you will depart the world someday. “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away;... ” (Job 1:21 NIV) And then what? To be condemned by your Maker? When we love the truth more, at least we are assured that Jesus Christ will receive us. Truth will not reject Himself and Jesus is the Truth.
We are instructed to fasten the "belt of truth" around our waist, indicating that truth is a foundational piece of spiritual armor. (Eph 6:14). 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12 warns that failing to "receive the love of the truth" leads to being deceived by a "strong delusion." Loving the truth protects our spiritual, mental, and eternal well-being. It is our freedom! The truth sets us free (John 8:31-31). Loving the truth means living it out in actions, words, and time, not just professing it (1 John 4:20). It is an affection and devotion to our Lord and Saviour. Loving the truth means being willing to be corrected by it, even when it seems to work against our immediate, selfish interests.
THE WORD: Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:31-32 NIV)
