WE ALL RUN TOWARDS GOD. - Devotional

PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

Mar. 2nd, 2026

We all run towards God. The righteous and the unrighteous. The believers and unbelievers. Christ followers and those who run after other gods. We all run toward God even when we believe we have escaped from Him. “The One enthroned in heaven laughs;” (Psa. 2:4a) because the truth is, nobody runs from God. How can anyone run away from the Omnipresent? His existence encompasses all space, time, and locations simultaneously. “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?” (Psa. 139:7)

Can anyone truly run from the presence of the God who made the heavens and the earth? “For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that IN EVERYTHING he might have the SUPREMACY.” (Col. 1:16-18 NIV)

When Adam went into hiding, he hid among the trees in the garden. The trees were not able to hide his frame. In fact, the trees gave him up because they were God’s eye. Jonah tried to run to the farthest of the earth but was caught in a raging storm and the sea swallowed him. He gave up the chase and completely surrendered. Why? Because he was still within the perimeters of God - within His reach.

We hide behind excuses. We hide behind pride. Shame sends us into hiding. But can we truly hide from the One who “created my inmost being;  you knit me together in my mother’s womb……..My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body;” (Psa. 139:13,15-16 NIV). God knows each one of us better than we know ourselves.

So, why are you running? Where are you running to? And from what are you running? Where do you intend to hide that is not visible to God? Your rejection of God or His errand only worsen your afflictions. Come back home. You can do that as a son, a servant or a condemned - you will still return to Him. No one runs from God; we all run towards Him.

THE WORD: “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they [h]exist and were created.” (Rev. 4:11 NKJV)
