PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT
Mar. 17th, 2026.
How are you an enemy of God?
You become God’s enemy whenever you distort the truth. It is so easy, so simple that we all do it daily without realizing it. Sin is simply the rejection of truth - disobedience of God’s word. Being God's enemy means acting against His will, often stemming from worldliness, pride, or sinful actions that separate individuals from Him. It involves actively resisting God's purpose, rather than merely making mistakes. But because we failed to listen, “But my people would not listen to me; Israel would not submit to me. So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts to follow their own devices.” (Psa. 81:11-12 NIV)
“If my people would only listen to me, if Israel would only follow my ways, how quickly I would subdue their enemies and turn my hand against their foes! Those who hate the Lord would cringe before him, and their punishment would last forever.” (Psa. 81:13-15 NIV) If you are a friend of the world, you are God’s enemy. Judas Iscariot chose money!
Here are some of what you stand to benefit if you are on the Lord’s side:- If you listen carefully to what he says and do all that I say, I will be an enemy to your enemies and will oppose those who oppose you. ….. I will take away sickness from among you, and none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span.” (Exo. 23:22-26 NIV). He will feed you “also with the finest of wheat; And with honey from the rock I would have satisfied you.” Psa. 81:16)
The question is; for how long will God turn His back on sinners? As long as they remain in sin. How long the separation lasts, depends on the guilty party. How long, Lord? Will you be angry forever? How long will your jealousy burn like fire?” (Psa. 79:5) God’s anger is only for a moment (Psa. 30:5). He already provided a way for reconciliation. “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chron. 7:14 NIV) “For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back. In a surge of anger I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness I will have compassion on you,” says the Lord your Redeemer.” (Isa. 54:7-8 NIV) God is not far, He is near - just embrace TRUTH
THE WORD: “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” (John 1:12 NIV)
