PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

May 13th, 2026.

“I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” (Gen. 12:3 NIV)

Meaning that God aligns Himself with Abraham and his descendants (Israel). Those who honor, support, or bless them will receive divine blessing and favor, while those who act with contempt towards them will face consequences. This promise is not limited to Israel alone; it extends to all who believe in Christ Jesus. "If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise." (Gal. 3:29)

So, this affirms; ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ (Mat. 25:40 NIV) Therefore, “Make no mistake about this: You can never make a fool out of God. Whatever you plant is what you’ll harvest.” (Gal. 6:7)

This played out in the life of Rahab, the prostitute (Josh.2:1-21) Rahab was a Canaanite prostitute living in Jericho. She was not Abraham’s descendant. She was not only a prostitute but a pagan. This brings out two questions: why did the spies lodged at her house? The spies are supposed to be clean - they have the Law of Moses! Because her house was the only escape route (Josh 2:15) Why was she interested in their safety? Answer; Joshua 2:9-11. The fear of the Lord already fell on the entire nation. She demonstrated faith. She stood/identified with the winner.

We need to understand that God created all things for His pleasure and can use anyone for His purpose. "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created". (Rev. 4:11) Rahab would have been condemned by many believers of this generation instead of seeking her redemption. The thing to remember is that we were all sinners before Grace found us. That should stay with us like God told the Israelites - ‘you were once a slave’.

For the kindness Rahab showed to Israel, her entire family was saved. She would later secure a place in the lineage of the Redeemer - Jesus Christ. Your act of mercy, kindness, consideration, compassion, love, travels far beyond what you can imagine because it directly aims at God’s promise - “I will bless those who bless… and curse those who curse. Do good, shun evil.

THE WORD: "The Lord does whatever pleases him, in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and all their depths." (Psa. 135:6 NIV)
