PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

How often have we chosen appearance over relationship whenever we prepare to go to church, events, work place, or just for leisure? We dress the outside but not the inside. We do it methodically to win the praises of people and for the admiration of others, or to out-do others.
Is it bad to look our best in all circumstances? The answer is no but the motive of the decision is what matters here. Do you do it seeking God’s approval or for the approval of men? Which should we dress more and better? What is the danger of dressing the outside while the inside is taken for granted?
On appearance, we are to appear clean, presentable, and consecrated (Exo. 19:10; 1 Pet. 3:3-5). Why do we need to be consecrated? Pray without ceasing, continually, never stopping (1 Thes 5:17) Because the devil is looking for loopholes, footholds and we open the door the moment we put appearance first. For example, when preparing to go to church, which should be our priority? Internal preparation or external? Which of the two is ready to meet instantly with the Lord? Outer beauty is fleeting; inner beauty is eternal.
You are the only one who knows deep down why you do what you do. Is it to please God or to please yourself? What happens if the recognition you expected is absent? What is the effect on you emotionally and otherwise? In that instance, does it have a positive or negative effect on your spiritual state? Some of us dress in the glory of God. The glory of God - our constant companion. It was there with the Israelites day and night in the wilderness and still available today if only you ask God to dress you in His glory.
Our current national situation demands that whenever we are leaving home, and for whatever occasion, we should be more spiritually prepared, the word of God our constant companion, in and out of season. Don’t pride yourself in what you put on rather pride yourself in what God puts in you and on you. Avoid distraction from your relationship with God. Allow God to cloth you and you will come home rejoicing.
THE WORD: "I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall exult in my God, for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation; he has covered me with the robe of righteousness..." (Isa. 61:10)
