TRUE SECURITY RESTS IN GOD. - Devotional

PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

June 16th, 2026.

“Mark the blameless man, and observe the upright; For the future of that man is peace.” (Psa. 37:37 NKJV)

Who is your first call when trouble comes knocking?

Who or what is your first responder?

Who do you run to when things are tough and rough, when others laugh at you or talk behind your back?

How do you respond when the tide is unfavourable?

Who do you worship when you can breathe again?

These questions when answered truthfully may reveal an ugly truth you may not want to admit considering that you believe your faith in Christ is unshakable? Peter was so sure of his standing in Jesus and with Jesus that he made a public announcement of it. “Even if I have to die with You, I will not deny You!” (Mat. 26:35 NKJV)

Have you been truly tested before? Has the tide of life almost drowned you? Who was by your side the whole time? Who kept you going? Who was your hope?

Balaam was paid by Balak to curse the nation of Israel and this was what he said: “How can I curse those whom God has not cursed? How can I denounce those whom the Lord has not denounced? …..Who can count the dust of Jacob or number even a fourth of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and may my final end be like theirs!” (Num. 23:8 & 10 NKJV) Balaam prayed instead, to die like those he was to curse!! What did Balaam see or heard when he built an altar and prayed to God?

“The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still." (Exo. 14:14 NIV)

Do you know who the Bible refers to as the “wicked?” Those who do not believe in Him. Those who worship other gods? Those who pretend to love Him but their hearts are far from Him. Those you may not be able to identify as believers or wrongly assume they are believers. But God knows His own.

Did you know that God can destroy your anchor - those you rely on in a split second? “.....there will be no future for the wicked.” (Psa. 37:38b NIV)

“Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong;” (Psa 37:1 NIV) Make God your anchor. He is a solid Rock.

THE WORD: “How I wish my people would listen to me; how I wish they would obey me! I would quickly defeat their enemies and conquer all their foes.” (Psa. 81:13-14 GNT)
