PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

“If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full. But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.” (Luke 6:32-35 NIV)
If you really want to know that your kindness is genuine, or you truly love like Jesus Christ, show it to your enemies - RESPONDING TO ENEMY’S HOSTILITY WITH KINDNESS. Can you do that - not once but continuously? Then, you will be children of the Most High God.
The enemies’ timeline has a due date. Meaning that whether you have the ability to fight them or not, whether you have tried and failed, in the end, justice will still prevail. Why? Because God is Holy and He reigns in Justice. The gavel of judgement will surely fall and God’s book will be balanced. Your obedience or otherwise may delay the process or you may become an accomplice and or equally guilty. Recall the incident when Balaam was unable to curse the Israelites. He devised a means to make them sin. The Israelites were enticed into sexual immorality and worshiping the pagan god Baal of Peor, which sparked a deadly plague that killed 24,000 people (Num. 25:9). That was disobedience and they paid dearly for it. They went from God protecting them to His wrath. You can obey God or try revenge in your own power. From “love your neighbor as yourself” in Leviticus 19:18 to “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” in Matthew 5:44 and many other passages, it’s clear throughout the Bible that whether enemies who receive our kindness have a change of heart or not, it’s our own behavior, not theirs that should be our focus.
"If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the Lord will reward you". (Prov. 25:21-22) Burning coals is divine presence, purification and judgement - symbolizes fire representing both the consuming wrath of God against sin and the purging refining power of His Holiness - (see Isaiah 6:6-7) Loving your enemies requires humility and His grace.
