DO YOU WANT TO LIVE A LIFE OF CONTENTMENT? - KBA Devotional

PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

Aug. 25th, 2026.

  • Then, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths." (Prov. 3:5-6)

  • Acknowledge this, "For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it." (1 Tim 6:7 NIV)

  • Note that nothing satisfies.I have seen all the things that are done under the sun; all of them are meaningless, a chasing AFTER THE WIND.” (Eccl. 1:14 NIV) "Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income.” (Eccl. 5:10 NIV) - This is Solomon sharing his experience. He was the wealthiest man ever lived - hear him. Wealth cannot bring true inner peace or final contentment.

  •  “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin……” (Zach. 4:10 NLT) Many great things start small. God finds joy in the very first steps of progress.

  • Do not put all your eggs in one basket - diversify your investments and be patient. “Invest in seven ventures, yes, in eight; you do not know what disaster may come upon the land.” (Eccl. 11:1-2 NIV) This way you will have enough and in a position to share.

  • Learn to relax and enjoy your hard work for there is no other gain in your labour. "So I recommend having fun, because there is nothing better for people in this world than to eat, drink, and enjoy life. That way they will experience some happiness along with all the hard work God gives them." (Eccl. 8:15) Follow God’s day of rest. Otherwise, you will spend your wealth on your health.

  • You build a life of gratitude by choosing to notice small blessings, thanking God or others, and focusing on what you have instead of what you lack. Everyday we are alive is a gift from God. The owner of the soul can call it back anytime. So be grateful and stop complaining. Let us be better than the nine lepers. Otherwise, you will forget God and start believing in yourself. Pride is a disaster.

  • Put God first. "Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind" (Eccl. 12:13). CONTENTMENT in life comes from your relationship with God, not from your bank account. It is God that can set us high upon a rock - “all other things will be added” - not by power or our might.

Do not use other people’ timeline to measure yours. Do not desire what others have. It will only make you miserable. Look unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of your FAITH.

THE WORD: “ Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Mark 12:30-31 NIV)
