CULTIVATE THE CHARACTER THAT SEEKS TO PLEASE GOD - Devotional

Our primary assignment as humans is to seek to please our Maker. What most of us do, is seek to please ourselves to the neglect of pleasing God. It is never late to turn a new leaf.

Let us cultivate the character that pleases God because it is the right thing to do.

To drive home this point, God commanded us from the very beginning that we should have no other gods before Him. But we ignored this.
God commanded us to freely eat of every tree of the garden but not the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. He added that the day we eat it, WE SHALL SURELY DIE. We have since rewritten the law that we shall not die; rather, we will become more knowledgeable. Our knowledge has taken us from building the tower of Babel,  to LGBTQA, to self destruction (ruling without acknowledging God), and now AI (Artificial intelligence) to replace humans or reduce humans. You wonder why food is becoming scarce, inflation rising daily, evil acts more prevalent, corruption practiced in the open and life is just meaningless? Less and less people for heaven; more and more people for hell.

Let us return to our first love by cultivating the character that seeks to please God. How?
1. Seek God by faith in Jesus Christ. "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."
(Heb.11.6.NIV; John 3:16)
2. Walk in the spirit not in the flesh. "Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.:
(Rom.8.8.NIV). Holy Spirit will help us if we are willing to please God.
3. Obey His commandments. Allow Him to lead you as the Good Shepherd. “If you love me, keep my commands." (John.14.15.NIV)
4. Surrender to His Will. "in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
(Prov.3.6.NIV) EXAMINE YOURSELF - AM I seeking other please God?

WORD: "So if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you today—to love the Lord your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul— then I will send rain on your land in its season, both autumn and spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new wine and olive oil. I will provide grass in the fields for your cattle, and you will eat and be satisfied." (Deut.11.13-15.NIV)
