QUESTIONS FOR KNOWLEDGE. - DEvotional

 

It is usually said or written; questions and answers or questions for answers. But to all the questions Job asked God or when he challenged God, God never directly answered his questions. Instead, God gave a four chapters lecture on His might and some of the wonderful works of His hand - His power on display throughout the earth.

Job in anticipation said; "If only I knew where to find him (God); if only I could go to his dwelling! I would state my case before him and fill my mouth with arguments. I would find out what he would answer me, and consider what he would say to me. Would he vigorously oppose me? No, he would not press charges against me." (Job.23.3-6.NIV)
OR "Why doesn’t the Almighty bring the wicked to judgment? Why must the godly wait for him in vain?
(Job.24.1.NLT)

These are thoughts and questions we have all asked God one time or the other especially when we see the injustices and imbalances in the the society!

Job finally concluded: “If only someone would listen to me! Look, I will sign my name to my defense. Let the Almighty answer me. Let my accuser write out the charges against me." (Job.31.35.NLT)

The Lord God answered Job out of the whirlwind. Here are some of the questions He asked:-
“Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorant words? Brace yourself like a man, because I have some questions for you, and you must answer them.
“Who kept the sea inside its boundaries as it burst from the womb,
For I locked it behind barred gates, limiting its shores. I said, ‘This far and no farther will you come. Here your proud waves must stop!’ “Have you ever commanded the morning to appear and caused the dawn to rise in the east?
“Where does light come from, and where does darkness go?
“Have you visited the storehouses of the snow or seen the storehouses of hail?" (Job.38.2-22.NLT)
You too may probably ask, how are these questions relevant? But Job  got the message. And for the first time probably saw how small and insignificant he was in the midst of all God's magnificence. He felt small and confessed his limited knowledge of God.

The heart knowledge of God truly humbles us. May we all experience Him.

WORD: "I know that you can do anything, and no one can stop you. You asked, ‘Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorance?’ It is I—and I was talking about things I knew nothing about, things far too wonderful for me." (Job.42.2-3.NLT)
