In contrast, there is the common saying that 'nobody knows what will happen after we finally depart this world.' Believers with the right standing with God are assured of where they will spend eternity.
In this same way, Believers should know with great certainty that they have a right standing with God as demonstrated by Job. Job was certain without any doubt that he was sinless because he obeyed God to the letter. In about thirty-four chapters of the Book of Job, the back and forth argument and blames, Job never once faltered on his sincerity and integrity in the ways of God.
Paul was equally certain when in his valedictory address said: "Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing." (2 Tim.4.8.NIV)
Stephen, the first martyr, just before he was stoned to death; “Look,” he said, “I see heaven open and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.”
(Act.7.56.NIV). Jesus Christ Himself, was present to receive him. This further goes to cement what the Lord Jesus told us: "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." (John.14.3.NIV)
With great certainty, each one of us should know where we are going especially because we claim to follow the Way, the Truth and the Life. How can you follow the Way and miss your way?
Have you taken the three simple procedures, believe, accept, obey Jesus Christ. You may need to review your standing with God if there is doubt or uncertainty in your mind.
You may want to read the Book of Job again. Not for suffering but for the right standing with God.
WORD: "I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." (Phil.3.14.NIV)
