WARFARE! - Devotional

 The Bible tells us to be battle ready, alert and sober all the time because "Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." (1 Pet.5.8.NIV). This is how we are to be battle ready: "with your cloak tucked into your belt, your sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand................"  (Exo.12.11.NIV), just as elaborated in Ephesians 6:10-17. Then "pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people." (Eph.6.18.NIV)

One of the most profound and assuring verses on warfare is knowing this; "For by Him (Christ) all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him." (Col.1.16.NKJV). Now you know that all forces are under the control of Jesus Christ.
Imagine a scenario where the enemies decide to harm you, (Because and "Indeed they shall surely assemble, but not because of Me. Whoever assembles against you shall fall for your sake."
(Isa.54.15.NKJV), these enemies cannot by-pass Christ, your Saviour (if you have a right standing with Him). An enemy cannot report you to your Father for destruction and something will not give except your hands are dirty too. Hence, "No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord. (Isa.54.17.NKJV)

That is why you have  power - "Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you." (Luk.10.19.NKJV; Psa. 91:10-13)

In addition to all of the above, He says; "For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you." (Isa.41.13.NIV.) Isn't this wonderful?!
Now, be strong in the Lord and in His might.

WORD: "Let  your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: “The Lord  is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
(Heb.13.5-6.NKJV)
