IN PAIN, IS GAIN. - Devotional

PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT.

April 9th, 2025

IN PAIN IS GAIN.
Trials bring us untold hardship, shame and pains. It stretches forever bringing us to our lowest threshold. Even at this point, there is a resolve, a silent strength (which may not be seen as such), which we do not know we possess, that keeps us going. A determination not to look back but forge ahead. This is especially true for those in Christ. Those who trust Jesus as personal Lord and Saviour.

Pains, often become great blessings for those who endure it. IT HAS LED MANY TO CHRIST and that experience alone cannot be put into words. "HE restores my soul." (Psa. 23). He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
(Psa.147.3.NIV). In one's darkest moment, when all else have failed, Jesus becomes the only hope and the  only way out. (Ref. The woman with the issue of the blood. The man born blind (John 9) etc)

PAIN AIDS PERSONAL GROWTH IN CHRIST. Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." (James.1.2-3.NIV)

KARMA is another pain that produces gains. David, while in Ziklag, raided many settlements leaving no one alive (1 Sam. 27) until he and his men were raided (1 Sam. 30). He tasted his own pills. We are quick to hurt or judge others until we find ourselves in the same situation. The experience becomes our light, an eye opener and a regret leading to repentance. "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." (Psa.34.18.NIV)

THE PAINS OF OTHERS is gain for many. The pains parents go through, is gain for their children. The suffering of Jesus is our gain for salvation and eternal life. "But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed." (Isa.53.5.NIV)

PAINS enhance our knowledge. A great deal is learned. We learn the 'why', 'how', 'what', and the 'when' even in something like when a car breaks down.

WORD: "For you, God, tested us; you refined us like silver. You brought us into prison and laid burdens on our backs. You let people ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance." (Psa.66.10-12.NIV)
