PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT.
April 5th, 2025
Just as the earth "was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep,...."
(Gen.1.2.NIV), so is our hearts. A state of chaos or wasteland. And if a wasteland, all sorts of rubbish/garbage can be dumped there. In that state of mind, we simply forget or do not know who we are. We have no specific identity and therefore crave to be somebody else or anybody but ourselves.
A void in the heart can lead to the sin of envy, jealousy, covetousness, lying, lack of contentment, abuse of the body, dissatisfaction, worrying constantly, discrimination, shrinking, lack of confidence which can lead to the wrong self assessment or inferiority complex.
Just as the earth needed "the Spirit of God to hover over the waters. And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light....." (Gen.1.2&3.NIV), the void heart cries out for a Saviour. Even after we have found the Saviour for our souls, we still experience the void because we want to conform to the world. We forget a crucial fact that each of us is UNIQUELY MADE FOR A SPECIAL PURPOSE (Ps. 139:14). And until we channel our energy towards that spiritual purpose, there cannot be real fulfillment. So, we need to fill the heart with more Word of God and it will no longer be a dumpster.
Therefore, whatever your status, (short, tall, black, yellow, widow, married, divorced, lettered or unlettered, rich or poor, sick or healthy, barren or fruitful, disabled or whole, etc), you glow with joy, satisfaction and contentment, more because the void is filled with God's purpose. There is no hopelessness when Jesus occupys the heart.
"As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God." (Psa.42.1.NIV) "Fear the Lord, you his holy people, FOR THOSE WHO FEAR HIM LACK NOTHING." (Psa.34.9.NIV) "Foolishness brings joy to those with no sense; a sensible person stays on the right path." (Prov.15.21.NLT)
WORD: "We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.
(Rom.12.6-8.NIV)
