WITH GOD, THERE ARE NO SHORTCUTS.
If there are no shortcuts with God, then it is safe to say there are no shortcuts in life if we must live to tell the story/s. We must be prepared to go through the whole process with God. Any other way, is premature death.
By nature, humans are impatient. We like to get things done quickly usually to give us extra time for leisure. Recall when our parents gave us part of the household chores, like sweeping or washing the dishes, and when they were not looking, we rush to complete the task. At a glance, the results speak for itself. We have to do the work all over again. This time, more thoroughly. Shortcuts are costlier than they appeared.
There are things to be learned on a journey, experiences to be gained, knowledge accumulation that become strength. But we miss all the vital signs when we try to cut corners. This probably accounts for why some students are more grounded and others shallow. “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." (Mat.7.13-14.NIV)
Getting rich quickly may not be an issue but the real challenge is how to maintain or multiply the windfalls. When the focus is getting rich, it could be fraudulently, a jackpot, or inheritance but without a fair knowledge on investment, it is: easy comes; easy goes. "Desire without knowledge is not good— how much more will hasty feet miss the way!" (Prov.19.2.NIV)
Shortcuts lead people away from God. It makes them independent of God. The people control the narratives. But we know that we are nothing without God (John 15:5). "When Pharaoh let the people go, GOD DID NOT LEAD THEM ON THE ROAD THROUGH THE PHILISTINES COUNTRY, THOUGH THAT WAS SHORTER. For God said, “If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.” (Exo.13.17.NIV) Why? Because they have not been trained for war. Shortcut does not provide that training. It does not provide patience, endurance, perseverance, and hope. All the characters needed to grow. Shortcut is not subject to the higher power rather, it desires to erase the truth. It failed Adam and Eve. Failed Cain and even Peter when he denied Jesus.
Quick solution worsen situation, hasty decision lands in trouble.
WORD: “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you." (Psa.32.8.NIV)
