CHARACTER CHANGE IS NECESSARILY COMPULSORY. (A reminder)
"If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? " (Mat.5.46-47.NIV)

The true identity of a follower of Jesus Christ is in the display of character relatable to Him. Jesus has set ways of doing things that has to do with God and the people.
☆ He puts God first in all things.
☆ He considers the people's need above His.
His followers are not expected to do less. He takes the burdens so that we can walk light. He bored the pain so that we should not. He endured shame so that we do not bury our heads in it. He told the truth so that we can stand in the court of justice with the truth. He walked right so that no one can accuse us of wrongdoings. All these are possible only if we change to His character. "You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am. And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you." (John.13.13-15.NLT)

We all display the attitude of superiority not servanthood. We believe somethings are beneath us. A man of God wants to be served not serve. We want to receive not give. We claim to belong to Jesus but operate in the garment of the world. It doesn't fit. There has to be a character shift or it is a betrayal.

Judas finally understood this principle but too late when he confessed: "When Judas, who had betrayed him, realized that Jesus had been condemned to die, he was filled with remorse. So he took the thirty pieces of silver back to the leading priests and the elders. “I have sinned,” he declared, “for I have betrayed an innocent man.” (Mat.27.3-4.NLT)

Many followers, believers, born again, (whatever name is appropriate) are still betraying HIM. We are to feed His sheep not the other way round. Lord have mercy.

WORD: "A third time he asked him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt that Jesus asked the question a third time. He said, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Then feed my sheep." (John.21.17.NLT)
