PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT.
May 13th, 2025IF YOU ARE WILLING TO BE A SERVANT!
HUMILITY OVER PRIDE!
TO SERVE, THAN TO BE SERVED!
DIRECTION FROM GOD RATHER THAN MAN.
“If you are willing to be a servant to these people today and give them a favorable answer, they will always be your loyal subjects.” (1 Ki.12.7.NLT). This was the advice the elders of the United Israel gave to Rehoboam, son of Solomon, and who succeeded him. But he, Rehoboam rejected this advice. The cost was catastrophic. Ten of the United twelve tribes of Israel broke away, and he was left with only Judah - the tribe of David to rule (1 Ki.12:16 & 17).
But Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Mat.20.25-28.NLT)
WHY should we be servants to produce the best results and or to be the greatest? Because a leader leads by example and the followers emulate the leader. (Follow-the-leader) A leader is like one of his own and he has their best INTEREST at heart. In other words, “Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets." (Mat.7.12.NLT - THE GOLDEN RULE! It is to put ourselves in the place or shoes of the others. To feel their pains, sufferings, aspirations and or joy and happiness. It is to be considerate and compassionate. It is to listen more than to instruct.
What Rehoboam planned for his people was worse than what their forefathers suffered in Egypt (1 Kings 12:13-14)
Any nation, society, corporate bodies, small/medium enterprises, families where human beings are not treated with dignity, will eventually collapse. Human beings are God’s property and His greatest investment. That is why He will defend the poor, the orphans, oppressed, widows and strangers (Roms. 12:19; Psa. 12:5)
THE WORD: “You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor? Can you make it salty again? It will be thrown out and trampled underfoot as worthless." (Mat.5.13.NLT)
