INSATIABLE HUNGER!
King Solomon started strong. At birth, God gave him the name Jedidiah - beloved of God (2 Sam 12:24-25). He became king after his father David even though he was not the next in line. He was highly favoured. His father, David gave him a thorough hand over advice on the importance of following the precepts of God and the consequences otherwise. "Observe the requirements of the Lord your God, and follow all his ways. Keep the decrees, commands, regulations, and laws written in the Law of Moses so that you will be successful in all you do and wherever you go." (1 Ki.2.3.NLT)
Solomon, himself, sort the face of the Lord because of the enormous responsibility placed on his shoulders and the Lord gave him wisdom like no one ever had (2 Chron.1:11) plus riches beyond his comprehension.
Interestingly, Solomon decided to experiment with pleasure, wealth, and cultural delights. "I said to myself, “Come on, let’s try pleasure. Let’s look for the ‘good things’ in life.” But I found that this, too, was meaningless." (Eccl.2.1.NLT) This was his downfall. For Solomon, wisdom became a problem. "The greater my wisdom, the greater my grief. To increase knowledge only increases sorrow." (Eccl.1.18.NLT)
Solomon who wrote Holy Scripture under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, who walked in God's statutes, and built His temple. He experienced God's love, grace, and salvation; he was given special spiritual understanding. Why was he led away by LUST? (1 Kings 11:1&2) Why was he blinded to the costly price of disobedience even after God's rebuke? (1 ki. 11:11). The answer is simple; BECAUSE HE DESIRED IT. Just as it happened in the Garden of Eden (Gen.3).
Adam started strong but ended badly. Solomon started strong but fell from grace to grass. Jesus Christ started strong and ended mightily.
Do not experiment. Stay within the parameters of the word of God. If you don't, you have moved into Satan's territory. Satan is wise and deceitful. We do not possess the power to fight him in this mortal body. Only in Jesus Christ is his defeat.
Solomon via into the devil's territory and he was brought down. STAY IN YOUR LANE. YOU CANNOT BE WISER THAN JESUS CHRIST.
THE WORD: "So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves." (Gal.5.16.NLT)
