SUFFERING FROM GRASSHOPPER MENTALITY! (2) (Num. 13:33)
Grasshopper mentality is running away from YOUR REALITY.
Canaan was Israel reality because God already made it so. This was settled with Abraham long before Moses was born. It doesn't matter their mindsets, Canaan must happen; God was not going to change His mind. "Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away" (Mat.24.35.NIV) "so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." (Isa.55.11.NIV) BUT they 'temporarily' abandoned their reality for FEAR.

How often have we done something similar?

God is calling you to minister to His people and the feeling of inadequacy engulfed you! You run, but you cannot hide. You give 1001 excuses why it cannot be. It is your reality and it has to be because God is involved otherwise it is death. God told Jeremiah in a similar situation: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
(Jer.1.5.NIV) Your act of resistance only increases the affliction.

God tells you to follow His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ and your heart is hardened; it is death. The reality is the saving grace of God and once it is rejected for whatever reason/s, it has consequences. Some of us can identify with this near death experience for refusing to accept God's determined reality immediately He called us.

In fact, and according to Numbers 13:25-33, grasshopper mentality is refusing God's provision based on your own inadequacy, worthlessness, or low self-esteem. Meanwhile, God doesn't need your competence. "But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong." (1 Cor.1.27.NIV)

A fallout from grasshopper mentality is you will eventually bow like Jonah, the hard way, what you refused on a silver platter. Pharaoh did. Nebuchadnezzar did. Those who refused during Noah's flood died. Who can battle with the Lord?

THE WORD: “......for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose." (Phil.2.13.NIV)
