PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT.
May 1st, 2025THE LORD ORDERS OUR STEPS.
There is a switch in the management of our life immediately we genuinely surrender our lives to Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. This is the control switch we all wrestle so much to keep and which hinders our growth. We are torn between the world and the word.
Before our conversion, we are like wild olive trees - uncultivated. We grow in different directions and yet without direction, lacking refinement and not prepared or nursed to bear fruit acceptable to the Lord. We are our own masters, stubborn, rebellious, and wicked.
It is only when and after we surrender to Him that God stirs us unto the path He needs us to follow, like stirring a ship on the right course. "The Lord directs the steps of the godly. HE DELIGHTS IN EVERY DETAIL OF THEIR LIVES. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand." (Psa.37.23-24.NLT). This reveals us as the Prodigal son who returns home.
"We can make our plans, BUT THE LORD DETERMINES OUR STEPS." (Prov.16.9.NLT). This sounds like we are not giving up without a fight but God is the supreme power.
"The Lord directs our steps, so why try to understand everything along the way?" (Prov.20.24.NLT). I wonder! You gave your life to Him freely. We cannot eat the cake and still have it!
"You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail." (Prov.19.21.NLT). We are His, the sheep of His pasture.
"Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path." (Psa.119.105.NLT) Cultivation is gaining root. This is what makes us humble and prepares us to bear fruit. We now struggle less, understanding drowning on us. And now, we are led unto the path of righteousness.
"This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is good for you and leads you along the paths you should follow." (Isa.48.17.NLT)
THE LORD ORDERS OUR STEPS, STOP STRUGGLING. FOR WITHOUT HIM, WE ARE NOTHING.
WORD: "Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones." (Prov.3.7-8.NLT)
