WEIRD WORLD OF MAN AND WOMAN.
When man is unfaithful, it is acceptable. It comes with the territory and the world seems to move on. If it becomes scandalous, it has a short life span. When woman is unfaithful, hell is let loose. It becomes an unforgiveable sin. She is tortured, and called unprintable names. Meanwhile, Jesus saw through this anomaly when said, “All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!” (John.8.7.NLT)
A widower gets more sympathy from the society than a widow. The widower is not stigmatized. In fact, he gets more attention than the widow. He is encouraged to remarry sooner than later. The widow is treated with disdain, a suspect in her husband's death, a person not worthy of attention but handed over leftovers. She is advised to send her children into slavery. “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the Lord. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves.” (2 Kings.4.1.NIV)
When the woman is the breadwinner, the man gets the credit. Her resources are freely available to all including the in-laws. When the man is the breadwinner, his resources become controlled.
The man puts his sibling as next of kin. When he dies, the next of kin sits on his assets and sends the deceased's family into the labour market. The woman leaves her assets to her children 'managed' by the man.
The man is a good cook, a better cook than the woman but will rather deny his family the joy of his skill simply because he is the man.
It is the responsibility of the woman to ensure she is not pregnant; never the man's. She gets blamed for unplanned pregnancy, abandoned, and shamed. Birth control is the woman's responsibility. The man has no scar on him.
The man can walk around half naked; while it is a grievous sin when the woman does same.
The woman spends eternity and resources trying to look good, show her curves, even when she is half naked. The man covers up his whole body except his face and gets more admiration.
The woman is constantly harassed in the work place but the man shares girlfriends.
The man wants to protect his daughter from the wolf, the woman let her son loose to go and conquer.
THE WORD: “So if your right eye causes you to sin, take it out and throw it away! It is much better for you to lose a part of your body than to have your whole body thrown into hell." (Mat.5.29.GNT)
