CRAVING FOR WHAT IS FORBIDDEN - LUST.
The dictionary definition of lust is "1. Intense or unrestrained sexual craving or 2. an overwhelming desire or craving." Lust is essentially to crave something,  usually associated with worldly desires of sexual intent or material possessions. Lust has this toxic actions to fulfill one's desires without consideration of the consequences. Lust is the produce of selfishness and greed.

Interestingly, just knowing that LUST or the spirit of it, does not seek unbelievers, it is already a cultural thing, an acceptable norm in the world of unbelievers. Rather, LUST is on the heel of every BELIEVER to stain, to pull down, or total destruction.
This is why lust is the craving for what is forbidden. It operates on the 'DO NOTs' of God. "....but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death." (Jas.1.14-15.NIV)

Lust is a slow seduction. It is not only about passion or pleasure but underlying pain. It feeds on pain, loneliness, rejection, disappointments, abandonment, insecurity. It preys on the vulnerable. (It maybe why men whose wives are nursing mothers, or widows, or those in the process of divorce, or lonely are its major victims) It is spiritual slavery and is never satisfied. It slowly drags one away from the scriptures until you are stripped naked, spiritually powerless.

How do you get back your freedom?
By exposing it. Admitting that you have a problem. Lust lurks in secret. Though the sin itself is as exposed as the day, victims believe it is secret. If it is assumed that nobody knows, the deeper the victim sinks, the more the boldness, and pride rules, leading to crushing downfall. YOU CANNOT KILL WHAT YOU KEEP FEEDING. Expose the deed to God or a mentor, Councilor. Expose yourself to freedom. Silence or secrets only empower abusers. "Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? (Rom.6.16.NIV). Protect your heart with all diligence (Prov. 4:23)

Find your way back into the Word of God. It is the only path to Freedom.

THE WORD: "I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you." (Psa.119.10-11.NIV)
