PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT.

THE DISCIPLE IS NOT ABOVE HIS MASTER.
"It is enough for students to be like their teachers, and servants like their masters. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebul, how much more the members of his household!" (Mat.10.25.NIV)

Who is your teacher?
Who is your master?
Who is your mentor?
These questions need clarification. The truthful answer will enable each of us to assess our position in our Saviour with absolute clarity.

-The fact that Jesus Christ is your Saviour does not necessarily mean He is your teacher.
-The fact that you hold the Bible does not mean it is your textbook.
-The fact that you read the Bible does not mean you act the Bible.
Your teacher or your master will automatically be your standard of faith,  your relationship with other people, your limitations, and how people see and treat you.

Jesus Christ showed us what to expect if He is our teacher; "Be on your guard; you will be handed over to the local councils and be flogged in the synagogues. On my account you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles." (Mat.10.17-18.NIV). Local councils, synagogues, governors and kings are your church councils, landlords, friends, family members and so on. Jesus told us, "You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved." (Mat.10.22.NIV)

If you are loved by the Governors, kings, local councils, your 'spiritual fathers', and you believe that Jesus Christ is your teacher, it means you are not telling the truth as you ought.

A disciple is not above his teacher rather, a disciple is like his teacher and a servant like his master. Elisha was like Elijah not better (2 Kings 2:1-14). True, Elisha did more miracles than Elijah does not translate that he was better than his master. He operated within the anointing of Elijah. In the same way that Jesus assured us; “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father." (John.14.12.NLT)
TIME TO RETHINK.

THE WORD: “When the group of prophets from Jericho saw from a distance what happened, they exclaimed, “Elijah’s spirit rests upon Elisha!” And they went to meet him and bowed to the ground before him." (2 Kings.2.15.NLT)
