PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT.
August 23rd, 2025
"BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR FROM ME."
"So my people come pretending to be sincere and sit before you. They listen to your words, but they have no intention of doing what you say. Their mouths are full of lustful words, and their hearts seek only after money." (Ezek.33.31.NLT)
Jesus says: "You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you, for he wrote, ‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship is a farce, for they teach man-made ideas as commands from God.’ ”
(Mat.15.7-9.NLT; Isa. 29:13)
So as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be; world without end. Can we ever truly change? Yes, if we truly accept Jesus Christ into our hearts.
Ezekiel was all prophecies from God and he has a distinctive signature 'Mortal Man' or 'son of man'. It was God Himself, who told Ezekiel that people only come to listen to him for personal gains. Many Churches are full today not for the word of God but for worldly interests - the very things that Jesus Christ warns against (Mat. 6:25). Ezekiel 33:31 critiques a superficial faith where people enjoy the sound of the message without practicing its teachings, akin to a beautiful song that is pleasing but not meant to be followed in daily life.
How can such people make heaven?
We cannot not over discuss this topic of hearers and not doers because the essence of Jesus' death on the cross is for all men to be saved. And only the word of God can wash us clean for a place in His kingdom. ".... this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever." (1 John.2.17.NLT)
WE SHOULD NOT ALLOW OUR TEMPORARY NEEDS IN THE WORLD TO CONSUME US to forget that the world is not our DESTINATION. We are just passing through. We are on a journey, the world is a distraction. What we do now determines our destination - HEAVEN OR HELL; ABRAHAM'S BOSSOM OR PERMANENT CAMP WITH SATAN. May it never be late for any of us to see and embrace the truth.
THE WORD: "...... They hear what you say, but they don’t act on it! But when all these terrible things happen to them—as they certainly will—then they will know a prophet has been among them.”
(Ezek.33.32b-33.NLT)
