PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT.

MADE RIGHTEOUS THROUGH FAITH IN CHRIST.
"But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. THIS RIGHTEOUSNESS IS GIVEN THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile," (Rom.3.21-22.NIV)
This means believers in Jesus Christ are righteous people! Do I feel righteous? Do you feel righteous? Am I conscious of God’s righteousness upon me?
Am I wearing that RIGHTEOUSNESS like a robe? Why does it feel unworthy to claim righteousness?
The truth is, the moment we gave our lives to Jesus Christ and are accepted, we took on His holiness, righteousness, saving grace, and more. The consciousness of Him as our personal Lord and Saviour is the easy part - maybe because we have always been under one kind of authority or the other. But do we constantly recognise Him as Lord and Saviour or just when we pray needing something? Claiming righteousness seems sacred and farfetched. Why? Because of our past, the baggage we brought with us to the cross. Because we are conscious of our sinful ways even though we have received His forgiveness. If after accepting His forgiveness we are still battling to forgive ourselves, while it took ages for many to do, how much more will righteousness be or being right with God?
Grace brought with it all that Jesus Christ is to all who believed. This is why we are co-heirs with Him. "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." (2 Cor.5.21.NIV) "........to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness." (Rom.4.5.NIV) So, we are righteous not by works but by faith.
"Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness." (Gen.15.6.NIV)
How will the realisation of this fact, when fully embraced, affect our attitude today? Will it help us carry ourselves better? Care for others better? Or will it make us put on the 'holier than thou' attitude?
It is good to know that you are made right with God by faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. How you use that gift and RESPONSIBILITY is entirely your decision.
THE WORD: "His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness." (2 Pet.1.3.NIV)
