PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT.

"FOR WITHOUT ME YOU CAN DO NOTHING."
This quote from John 15:5 is more profound as unfolded in the Book of Daniel that I thought to share it. God is truly the vine; His creations are just the branches. "Do not lift your horns against heaven; do not speak so defiantly.’ ” No one from the east or the west or from the desert can exalt themselves. It is God who judges: He brings one down, he exalts another." (Psa.75.5-7.NIV)
It was God who gave Nebuchadnezzar power to capture Judah and made the people, His people captive. "Now I will give all your countries into the hands of my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; I will make even the wild animals subject to him." (Jer.27.6.NIV). This was the judgement for sins committed (2 Kings 24:1-4)
It was God that favored Daniel and his friends. "To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds." (Dan.1.17.NIV)
It was God who orchestrated the dreams of Nebuchadnezzar and the interpretation by Daniel.
1. To reveal Himself to Nebuchadnezzar that He alone has All power and dominion.
2. To strengthen the faith of Daniel and his friends. He also set them apart unto Himself and as example to the pagans.
It was God who was the fourth man in the furnace of fire. Nebuchadnezzar saw it and again proclaimed that there is no gods as the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego (Dan. 3:28-29).
Nebuchadnezzar's humiliation and his banishment from his throne to a beast, and eating grass for seven years, was God's judgement and correction until he finally worshipped God as he ought. "At the end of that time, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven, and my sanity was restored. Then I praised the Most High; I honored and glorified him who lives forever. His dominion is an eternal dominion; his kingdom endures from generation to generation." (Dan.4.34.NIV)
Amazingly, God restored him: At the same time that my sanity was restored, my honor and splendor were returned to me for the glory of my kingdom. My advisers and nobles sought me out, and I was restored to my throne and became even greater than before." (Dan.4.36.NIV) To be contd
THE WORD: “Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything he does is right and all his ways are just. And those who walk in pride he is able to humble."
