PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT.

ALWAYS BUSY BUT WITHOUT VISION!
"So the Twelve called a meeting of all the believers. They said, “We apostles should spend our time teaching the word of God, not running a food program. And so, brothers, select seven men who are well respected and are full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will give them this responsibility. Then we apostles can spend our time in prayer and teaching the word.” (Act.6.2-4.NLT)
Our human assessment of a 'good Christian' is the man or woman who is always available for all and in all church programmes irrespective of their spiritual development. They seemed dependable and reliable. They go from program to program, vigil to vigil, conference to conference oblivious of the cost to their homes, work places and even their neighbourhood. They tried to build righteousness around them but they are not righteous. Meanwhile, our primary responsibility is to our immediate family while not neglecting our spiritual development.
It is unfortunate that we assume that these 'busy members have surrendered their lives to Christ Jesus. They too believe they have but when you engage some of them in discussion, it is glaring that they haven't. They sincerely believe that the works they do guarantee them a place in heaven. "But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.” (Luk.10.41-42.NLT). Faith not self imposed works. Vision not emptiness. Revelation not blindness.
God's approval not human praises.
The ever busy Priest and the Levite, time conscious-righteous people bypassed a man needing urgent help for religiosity. “Then a despised Samaritan came along, and when he saw the man, he felt compassion for him....... “Now which of these three would you say was a neighbor to the man who was attacked by bandits?” Jesus asked. (Luk.10.33-36.NLT). Jesus told us how we can serve Him without the overkill but with great reward. "Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will FIND REST for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”(Mat.11.29-30.NLT)
THE WORD: “Where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom’s instruction." (Prov.29.18.NIV)
