FOR YOU ARE WITH ME.
"Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, FOR YOU ARE WITH ME; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." (Psa.23.4.NIV)
The promise of God, "I will be with you" is written many times in the Bible. It is tuck-in in almost all the books of the Bible for a reason - to assure God's own people of His constant presence in our lives as our armour and shield. This should comfort many who think they are alone in whatever they are going through. As God's own children, you are never alone. So, you can, like the Psalmist, claim this promise as your own - "God is with me" or as hope - "God will be with me" or you may just gloss over it, leave it in the Holy Book and move on.
A story was shared a long time ago of a man driving a truck. It was in the dead of the night when he was stopped at a police check point. After his documents were checked and found in order, but before he was given the all cleared, one of the officers asked; "Are you not afraid driving alone in this truck at this hour?" He answered that he was not alone, that God, the Father, God, the Son and God, the Holy Spirit were with him. In contrast, many children of God live in fear even of their own shadow.
David wrote; "even though I walk through the darkest valley I will fear no evil." You may picture the worst imaginable terrifying situation that can be but as for David, it was not a problem for him because God was in his boat. No need for human security or gadgets and no need to fear. "In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety." (Psa.4.8.NIV)
If this promise does not resonate with you, you need to review your standing with God, check if you are truly his child, and ask yourself if your trust is in Him. ".....this is what the Lord says— he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I WILL BE WITH YOU; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze." (Isa.43.1-2.NIV)
Faith and not Fear is the inheritance of the believers. And the Lord throws in LOVE, POWER AND SOUND MIND.
THE WORD: “I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.” (Gen.28.15.NIV)
