THE NIGHT FLIGHT; HOW PREPARED ARE YOU? - Devotional

PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT.
Oct. 10th, 2025

THE NIGHT FLIGHT; HOW PREPARED ARE YOU?
"This is how you are to eat it: with your cloak tucked into your belt, your sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand. Eat it in haste; it is the Lord’s Passover." (Exo.12.11.NIV) Why?

Because, their Adversary, Pharaoh, will finally release them to go when they least expected. "And at midnight, the Lord struck down all the firstborn in Egypt....(Exo. 12:29-30). "During the night Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Up! Leave my people, you and the Israelites! Go, worship the Lord as you have requested." (Exo.12.31.NIV) This was a template of the rapture of the children of God.

I recommend we all read Exodus 12 again as well as cross reference with Matthew 24:43; 1 Thes.5:2; 2 Peter 3:10 and Revelation 16:15.
(“Behold, I am coming like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake, keeping his garments on, that he may not go about naked and be seen exposed!”)
(Rev.16.15.ESV)

THE PASSOVER regulations: one of which is that
"No foreigner or hired worker may eat of it."
(Exo.12.45.ESV). Meaning that no unbeliever will be lifted up. "For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever." (1 Thes.4.16-17.NIV)

What separated the Israelites from the Egyptians was the blood of the lamb on their door posts (Exo. 12:23). It is also the blood of Jesus, the Lamb that was slain, that will separate the believers from the rest of the world.

The parable of the ten virgins adds an important twist to the believers standing in Christ - those who are fully ready for the flight and those who are not. The later are those who take their faith in Christ for granted. They believe that once you are born again, you are born again. Even though this is true, we have to work hard to preserve and guard our salvation with fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12).

May we all be rapture ready in Jesus name.

THE WORD: But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober."
(1 Thes.5.4-6.NIV)
