THE VICTORY OF THE VICTORY.
"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." (Eph.6.12.NIV). And we overcome because; "The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For IN HIM ALL THINGS WERE CREATED: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; ALL THINGS HAVE BEEN CREATED THROUGH HIM AND FOR HIM. He is before all things, AND IN HIM ALL THINGS HOLD TOGETHER." (Col.1.15-17.NIV)
So, our warfare is on two levels:- the invisible and the visible. The spiritual and the physical. There is therefore a two level victory also. And until we accept the spiritual victory, we cannot claim the physical victory. The danger is in our inability to see the spiritual victory.
When the spies Moses sent to spy the promised land reported back,, there reports were damning and had to wait forty years. They missed the spiritual victory (Num. 13:1-14:38).
Israel was at war with the Philistines. Jonathan told his armor bearer "come, let us go to the Philistines garrison that is on the other side." This he did without the knowledge of his father. The test was simple - let the enemy see us. "If they say to us, ‘Wait there until we come to you,’ we will stay where we are and not go up to them. But if they say, ‘Come up to us,’ we will climb up, because that will be our sign that the Lord has given them into our hands.” (1 Sam.14.9-10.NIV). He had the victory before it was seen because the Philistines actually invited him to come up.
The Philistines heard that David was king and decided to fight him but David went into the stronghold to seek God. The Lord answered him, “Go, for I will surely deliver the Philistines into your hands.” (2 Sam.5.19.NIV). When you hear the marching in the top of the polar tree, move quickly - it is the sound of victory (2 Sam. 5:24-25).
It was the same before the wall of Jericho fell down flat. The Israelites camped round that high wall for 7days like they owned it. Because they already had victory before the victory. "For we live by faith, not by sight." (2 Cor.5.7.NIV)
When you know and have accepted your spiritual victory, your enemies are no longer in charge.
THE WORD: “Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road." (Mark.10.52.NIV)
