THE BRIDE IS BEING PREPARED.
“Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear.” (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of God’s holy people”.) (Rev. 19:7-8 NIV)
There is a wedding preparation of believers as the Bride of Christ that is ongoing. This involves physical preparations like getting dressed, while the spiritual preparation of the “Bride of Christ” involves INTENTIONAL, DAILY ACTIONS SUCH AS LIVING IN PURITY AND RIGHTEOUSNESS TO BE READY TO MEET JESUS.
Jesus Christ is the Bridegroom and the believers are His Bride. The Bride being the Church. Jesus Himself said He was going to prepare a place for His Bride, that where He is, the believers also will be (John 14:1-3). But before He left to go and prepare a place, He said, He will not leave us as orphans, He will ask the Father to give us another Helper, (the Holy Spirit) that will abide with us forever, who will dwell with us to teach us all things and bring to our remembrance all things that we need to know about the Groom (John 14:16-31) This translates that we have the Holy Spirit and the written word of God, the Holy Bible, to guide us and prepare us for the wedding ceremony.
When the king Ahasuerus was ready to REPLACE Vashti, he was advised to look for beautiful young virgins throughout the land and to bring them under the custody of Hegai, the king’s eunuch as custodian for PREPARATION for marriage. The women who pleased the king WILL BE CHOSEN. Esther was among the virgins. Their preparations took twelve months. When it was the turn of Esther to meet the king, she took nothing but what Hegai the king’s eunuch advised. This translates to ONLY THE ADVICE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IS RELEVANT IF WE MUST FIND THE GROOM’S FAVOUR. “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her
holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.” (Eph. 5:25-27 NIV)
Are you aware that you are being prepared for His coming? Are you complying to His instructions? Do you allow the Holy Spirit to guide you as Hegai guided Esther? Will you be one of the five wise virgins? WE ARE BEING GROOMED FOR THE GROOM.
THE WORD: "Then the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” And he added, “These are the true words of God.” (Rev.19.9.NIV)
