"WHEN I AM LIFTED UP." - Devotional

PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT.
Nov. 27th, 2025

“WHEN I AM LIFTED UP”
“And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” He said this to show the kind of death he was going to die.” (John 12:32-33 NIV). This is the death on the cross for the redemption of the world from sin. The enemies thought by lying against Him, by disgracing Him, by sentencing Him to die, and by nailing him on the cross, that will be His end and the world will be theirs. But they missed the MOST IMPORTANT POINT – the prophesies of God concerning Jesus which He spoke from Genesis to Malachi. God was very specific in some of these prophesies about the type of death Jesus will experience. And when God speaks, it has to be fulfilled. This is one of the reasons the enemies cannot destroy you. They do not know or they forget the purpose/prophesies of God about you.

In fact, Moses not only prophesied but he gave the reason why Jesus had to come: “The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your fellow Israelites. You must listen to him. FOR THIS IS WHAT YOU ASKED OF THE  LORD  YOUR GOD AT HOREB ON THE DAY OF THE ASSEMBLY WHEN YOU SAID, “LET US NOT HEAR THE VOICE OF THE  LORD  OUR GOD NOR SEE THIS GREAT FIRE ANYMORE, or we will die.”The Lord said to me: “What they say is good. I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites, and I will put my words in his mouth. He will tell them everything I command him. (Jesus did exactly that and the Holy Spirit)  I myself will call to account anyone who does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name.” (Deut. 18:15-19 NIV) Verse 19, sounds like John 3:16.

When Jesus said, “when I am lifted up, I will draw all men unto me; He was telling them that if they put Him on that cross, many more peoples of all nations will be drawn to Him - not only the Jewish or the neighboring nations but all the world. This also is saying something to your life. The plan of God for you cannot be truncated. You may go through many sufferings but the Word of God will prevail more so that light cannot be hidden.

The enemy on our heels, pushes us to our potentials. This is why praising and thanking God in all circumstances is more meaningful when you are in God's plan.

THE WORD: “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”
(Luk.22.42.NIV)
