PRACTICAL CHRISTIANITY - MEDITATE DAY AND NIGHT

BEFORE THEY CALL, I WILL ANSWER.
“I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers!” (Isa. 65:24 NLT)
This promise was demonstrated in the life of David and his men in 1 Samuel 30:1-20. David and his men were rejected by the Philistines when the later mobilized for war against Israel because of fear he might take side with Israel. David and his men then returned to Ziklag only to find that their camp had been raided and all their possessions gone including their wives and children. “When David and his men saw the ruins and realized what had happened to their families, they wept until they could weep no more. David’s two wives, Ahinoam from Jezreel and Abigail, the widow of Nabal from Carmel, were among those captured. David was now in great danger because all his men were very bitter about losing their sons and daughters, and they began to talk of stoning him. But David found strength in the Lord his God.” (1 Sam. 30:3-6 NLT)

David sought the face of the Lord and he got His promise that He will deliver the Amalekites into his hands.
Here is the interesting part; The Amalekites took everything from David and his men but when they eventually caught up with the enemy, everything that belongs to them were recovered. Nothing was missing or mishandled. “David got back everything the Amalekites had taken, and he rescued his two wives Nothing was missing: small or great, son or daughter, nor anything else that had been taken. David brought everything back. He also recovered all the flocks and herds, his men drove them ahead of the other livestock. “This plunder belongs to David!” they said.” (1 Sam. 30:18-20 NLT) Before David called upon the Lord, before he even knew that his family was in the hands of bandits, the Lord had persevered them. They were captured yes, but became untouchable. The Lord guarded everything, people, their possessions which included all their animals. We are talking about bandits!!!
This miracle is usually the unseen hand of God in our lives that we have all come to take for granted. God working round the clock to keep us safe even before we asked. Ask yourself; why did you escape that disaster just by the fraction of a minute? The answer to our prayers is prepared before we pray. The desire to talk to the Lord about our needs comes from Him. This should give us an insight into His promise that He will not leave us nor forsake us and to be thankful to Him always. His unseen preferential treatment to His children, (fighting our battles, securing, providing, protecting,) is incomprehensible. But only if you are one of His children through acceptance of Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.
THE WORD: “The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; [8] the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore." (Psa.121.7-8.NIV)
