THE DANGER OF DOUBTING CHRIST’S 2ND COMING.
1.Delay is not denial.
2.The Word of God once spoken must surely come to pass.
3.God is going to rid the earth of sin just as He did with the nations during Israel journey to the promise land.
4.A thousand years is like a day to the Lord.
5.The Lord’s coming will be swift like a thief in the night.
6.The delay is to enable many more willing souls to hear the Good News.
7.God does not desire that anyone should perish but that all should have eternal life.
8.Surely, there is going to be a New Heaven and a New Earth.
9.The Lord is going to take His own children out to safety before the destruction of this current earth and heaven.
People have doubted the second coming of the Lord for centuries because it was expected to have happened a long time ago based on similar events as described in Matthew 24:4-14. The world has witnessed false prophets and false prophecies. Some have called themselves the messiah. There had been and still on-going wars and rumours of wars, nations rising against nations. Christians are being afflicted, killed, hated for the Gospel’s sake. Many have been betrayed, sin is still climbing high, and Jesus is yet to come back. Speculations ran high a while back but Jesus is yet to appear as He promised. The Love of many is growing cold - And herein lies the real danger.
The rules are:
●We are to wait patiently.
●We are to persevere and endure to the end.
●Only those who endured to the end shall be saved.
He will raise those who died not witnessing His 2nd coming first – that is the assurance.
The real secret is, NO ONE KNOWS THE DAY AND THE HOUR NOT EVEN THE ANGELS OF HEAVEN ONLY THE FATHER KNOWS WHEN THE COMING OF CHRIST WILL BE (Mat. 24:36).
The real danger:
☆Delay is also a type of weeding. It reveals the real from the unreal (the Parable of the ten virgins)
Jesus Christ is definitely coming back for His own - sleeping or alive, we will be caught up with Him in the cloud.
THE WORD: “But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." (2 Pet.3.8-9.NIV)
